Ralph Myers' run over at the end of 2015.

Artistic Director of Belvoir St Theatre, Ralph Myers, has announced that he will step down from his role of five years at the end of the 2015 season.

Though he stated that he has loved being part of "the finest theatre company in the country", he does not believe that artistic directorships "should be jobs for life". He says he has been offered a number of exciting projects overseas, and is eager to get back to his previous area of work as a set designer.

As Artistic Director, Myers revitalised the company by focusing on new Australian plays, reinvented classics and local works.

Expressions of interest for those wishing to apply for the role will open soon and a new Artistic Director is to be named in late-2014 or early-2015.
