Who will take the #1 spot?
This week’s ARIA Albums chart features an unlikely battle, with UK indie favourites London Grammar up against US punk rock legends The Offspring in a race to number #1.
According to midweek figures, both London Grammar’s Californian Soil and The Offspring’s Let The Bad Times Roll are expected to debut in the top 3.
The release of London Grammar’s highly anticipated third album last week follows on from a recent tour announcement, with guitarist Dan Rothman revealing to The Music that they made returning to the country a huge priority due to their dedicated Australian fan base, so it’s no surprise they’re looking to hit #1 this week.
If London Grammar did top the Albums chart, it would mark their first #1 in Australia, while The Offspring are gunning for their third Aus #1.
The Offspring’s latest offering marks their first new album in almost 10 years, and they’re also looking to reconnect with Aussie audiences, with frontman Dexter Holland and guitarist Noodles recently appearing on The Green Room With Neil Griffiths podcast and revealing they plan to make it up to fans for their cancelled tour.
