Sony Music Entertainment Australia’s Sophie Paterson has been selected as the 2021 participant in ARIA's Board Observership Program.
Having joined Sony Music in 2020 as Audience Development & Digital Communication Senior Director, Paterson was award the position “following a highly competitive selection process”.
The program aims to “build the capability of emerging industry talent and promote equality, diversity and inclusion on boards across the Australian music industry” while providing “valuable professional development for talented employees within ARIA member companies”.
“I am immensely honoured to be joining ARIA this year in the Observership role,” Paterson said.
“I cannot think of a better, more challenging and more rewarding time to contribute during what is such an important period of recovery for our amazing industry.”

Prior to her role at Sony Music, Paterson was Head of PR & Communications for Spotify ANZ for eight years.
Also announced today, Sebastian Chase and David Vodicka have been e-elected for new terms on the ARIA Board.
