“We’re very excited about this announcement."
Two of Australia’s most revered artists, Tommy Emmanuel and Archie Roach, have been added to South Australia’s ever-growing Walk Of Fame.
The two beloved artists have been added to the Adelaide Festival Centre attraction in recognition of their “powerful performances” at the venue in 2018; Emmanuel performing at Adelaide Guitar Festival and Roach bringing his Dancing With My Spirit show to Adelaide Cabaret Festival.
Joining them on the Walk Of Fame are ABBA members Benny Andersson and Björn Ulvaeus, who won the public vote for their musical compositions which form the basis of the hit musical Mamma Mia!.
“The calibre of our Season 2018 performances was so high that choosing just three to honour with stars on our Walk Of Fame was always going to be a challenge for our critics and the public,” Adelaide Festival Centre CEO & Artistic Director Douglas Gautier AM said.
“We’re very excited about this announcement and we feel it reflects the breadth and depth of our offering to have a major musical chosen alongside two of our fantastic festival acts.”
They join more than 130 other names, including Olivia Newton-John, The Seekers, Nick Cave, Paul Kelly, Kate Ceberano, Jimmy Barnes, Tim Minchin and more.
