Sarah Aarons, Mallrat & More Pick Up Wins At APRA AMCOS' First Global Music Awards

APRA AMCOS launched their first-ever global awards in Los Angeles today with some incredible Aussie talent winning big. 

Sarah Aarons (whose track with Justin Timberlake and SZA, The Other Side, dropped today) has picked up the title of Songwriter Of The Year, while Mallrat has scored Breakthrough Songwriter Of The Year. 

Joel Little was presented with the Overseas Recognition Award while Sia presented Colin Hay with the Distinguished Services award.

A number of artists were also honoured as part of The 1,000,000,000 List. See the full lists of winners below. 

“Australian and New Zealand songwriters and composers are pushing musical boundaries and attaining incredible goals in a globally competitive environment, with unprecedented results and achievements to their credit,” said APRA AMCOS Chief Executive Dean Ormston.

“We want to acknowledge that in Los Angeles as well as in Nashville and London, where so many success stories are set, and where many of our members do their work and make a home.”

Additional award ceremonies will take place in Nashville and London throughout early March.
