Iconic thrash metallers Anthrax are close to finishing their new studio album, with guitarist Scott Ian confirming the progress recently.
Killyourstereo reported last month an update for Ian regarding the band's plans for the year, with the musician briefly touching on the new tenth studio album amongst other things.
"This year will bring our tenth Anthrax studio record featuring the return of the one and only Joey Belladonna," Ian said in March.
The guitarist has since elaborated further when he caught up with ARTISTdirect.com editor Rick Florino this week.
"The record is almost done. Joey's been singing. He's got about seven or eight songs pretty much finished at this point. We've got some other tracking to do—some guitars and lead breaks. Overall, I would think the record will be finished and mixed before the summer and we're looking at a fall release."
