A special Sydney show next month.
The Australian music industry continues to rally behind Melbourne DJ Phil K (real name Phil Krokidis) following his bladder cancer diagnosis, with a number of local artists teaming up for a Sydney fundraiser show next month.
The event at Club 77 on April 12 will feature Phil K alongside Infusion (DJ set), The Aston Shuffle, Danny Bonnici, Simon Caldwell, Mark Dynamix, Ben Korbel, Jono Fernandez B2B Barrie Barton, Trent Rackus, Crispin (Sweetchilli) and Trent Anthony.
“I’m sure some of you have heard that I haven’t been doing so well lately. And, honestly, it’s been a pretty tough few months,” Krokidis said.
“Having to face my mortality, that’s not a pleasant thing for a person to have to go through and I wouldn’t wish it upon anyone.”
As Krokidis has been unable to work since September, the show will raise funds to help ease financial stress and allow him to focus on his health.
Krokidis was a prominent figure in the Aussie breaks scene and was one the country's biggest dance acts throughout the '90s and 2000s.
