Acclaimed Melbourne singer and musician Angie McMahon has announced two special headline shows in Melbourne and Sydney this September as part of her Make Mistakes tour.

In addition to the tour news, McMahon appeared on triple j this morning to announce that her second album, Light, Dark, Light Again, is coming via AWAL on Friday, 27 October. You can pre-order your copy here. You can check out the first single, Letting Go, here.

The Slow Mover singer will perform at Sydney’s Metro Theatre on Wednesday, 27 September, followed by Melbourne’s Northcote Theatre on Thursday, 28 September. Tickets go on sale next Wednesday, 19 July, at noon AEST via the Frontier Touring website.

The Frontier Members pre-sale begins on Monday, 17 July, at 10 am AEST – you can find your tickets here.

Light, Dark, Light Again is McMahon’s long-awaited follow-up to 2019’s superb Salt, which hit #5 on the ARIA Album Charts and took home multiple accolades, including the AIR Award for Best Independent Rock Album.

In The Music’s four-star review of Salt, reviewer Madelyn Tait praised McMahon’s warm formula as a “tried and tested recipe for great songs, with strummed electric guitar, warm bass, simple drums and her unique, low vocals the sole ingredients. It’s a combination that’s fairly simple but incredibly effective.”

On If You Call, the closing track of McMahon's first full-length Salt, she admitted in an interview with The Music, “Where I whistle, I wanted it to be a harmonica, initially, but I can't play it, and I didn't have time to learn.”

With one album under her belt, McMahon has toured the US supporting Hozier, performed at Dot To Dot (UK), Best Kept Secret (NL), Splendour In The Grass and Groovin’ The Moo festivals as well as shows alongside Julia Jacklin, Mumford & Sons, Angus & Julia Stone and more.

Don’t miss out on the beginning of a new era for one of our most beloved songwriters.
