The creative mastermind behind the programming of White Night Melbourne's programming since the inception of the unique cultural event in 2013, Andrew Walsh AM has been appointed its Artistic Director for 2016. Walsh has created some of the world's most spectacular events including the Centennial Ceremony for Australia's Centenary of Federation, London's Millennium celebrations and the opening and closing ceremonies of the Melbourne Commonwealth Games.
An event that has attracted more than 1.3 million attendees in its first three years, White Night Melbourne will next year run from 7pm 20 Feb to 7am 21 Feb, taking over city streets, major cultural institutions, public spaces gardens and landmark buildings as artists celebrate the vibrant culture of the city.
Expressions of interest are now open for performers, artists, businesses and organisations interested in participating. White Night Melbourne is a State Government initiative created by Victorian Major Events Company.
