Andrew Dice Clay Announces Australian Tour

4 August 2014 | 9:57 am | Staff Writer

The Dice Man cometh this October

Veteran US comedian and actor Andrew Dice Clay has announced that he will make his inaugural journey to Australia for a run of shows around the country this October.

Kicking off in Canberra on Tuesday, October 7, The Dice Man Cometh Down Under tour will take the multi-Gold- and Platinum-selling stand-up – who with a handful of other comedians holds the distinction of having sold out Madison Square Garden over two consecutive nights – through capital cities (Sydney, Melbourne, Perth, Adelaide) and vibrant regional hubs (Wollongong, Geelong, Toowoomba, Newcastle, the Gold Coast) alike in its 13-show, month-long duration.

Enjoying a swift rise to fame throughout the ‘80s, Dice Clay first achieved international notice as the central star of 1990’s feature-length The Adventures of Ford Fairlane, going on to become one of the country’s most controversial entertainers, appearing several times on fictional and non-fictional TV shows and being banned from MTV for life.

More recently, Dice Clay has managed to pull himself out of the harsh dumping ground filled with post-‘90s comedians through a self-aware appearance on axed-too-soon Raising Hope, a one-episode stint on The Celebrity Apprentice (the brevity of which he is incredibly proud), an acclaimed performance on the last season of Entourage, an artistically credible turn in Woody Allen’s Blue Jasmine alongside Cate Blanchett and Alec Baldwin last year, and the airing of his first stand-up special in almost 20 years, Indestructible, on Showtime earlier this year.
