Alex Lyman and Weston Richmond both were hurt in a homophobic altercation
California post-hardcore band Slaves (not to be confused with the British two-piece punk band of the same name) suffered a scare last night, when their guitarist Alex Lyman got stabbed in the side, allegedly by a felon. The band's guitarist Weston Richmond also broke his arm while attempting to protect Lyman.
Lyman revealed the news in an Instagram post of his rib cage and arm, hooked up to the hospital's various machines. Though the stab wound is not visible, Lyman explains what happened in the altercation in the caption below.
"Last night I was stabbed in the side with a 4 inch cut that is 2 inches deep and a centimeter from my spleen. This was all from a felon with prior charges who is now in prison.

"There was no confrontation and nothing was done to provoke this. It was spilt because I'm a "faggot in skinny jeans" I have multiple slices on my throat and arms but only one serious one."
Richmond also suffered a broken arm, again evidenced in an Instagram post. He explains, "Well, so much for warped tour.. Alex Lyman and I got into an altercation with a homophobe brandishing a large knife. Our good friend Blake was stabbed, as well as Alex. He attempted to stab me too. I luckily avoided that and ended with a broken hand and minor cuts.."
The band are currently on Warped Tour and will play their dates as normal according to their Facebook, though Richmond will not be playing with the band.
