People love a good themed bar or restaurant. And we at The Music love a good music-themed bar or restaurant.

After discovering Sydney burger joint Bonditony's had burgers named after Zeahorse, Cog and The Jezabels, now we've stumbled upon a new hip hop-influenced bar in Sydney called The Carter, named after Jay Z and Beyonce, as well as a slew of other influential figures.

Speaking exclusively to The Music, venue manager Chady Khouzame shared, "The Carter was inspired by New York's great architecture, food and controversial entertainment.

"Jay Z and Beyonce have always been at the centre of controversy which is what inspired our hidden messages in artwork surrounding the bar and the murals on the wall in the basement."

With gilded gold scaffolding, murals by "a female artist from Melbourne who doesn't want to be named" and Renaissance-inspired artwork that calls to mind Jay Z and Kanye West's Watch The Throne and Jay Z's Magna Carta Holy Grail album art, The Carter even boasts food and drinks inspired by the hip hop scene.

You can order The Carter chicken wings (with Bey's Hot Sauce), Nas sticky lamb ribs, Kanye BBQ corn cob, the Biggie 1kg T-bone steak and the Snoop foot long hot dog. On the drinks menu, sip on the Kimye cocktail, the Pablo, the Crooked Hillary or the Obama Out.

The Carter is housed in what used to be restaurant Swine & Co and just launched this week.
