Is It Too Late Now To Say Sorry? Justin Bieber Sued For Allegedly Ripping Off Single
Fellow pop star claims he stole vocals from her song.
Pop megastar Justin Bieber is being sued by indie singer Casey Dienel (White Hinterland) who alleges that the Canadian artist ripped off the melody from her song for his global hit, Sorry.
As TMZ reports, Dienel alleges that the "unique characteristics of the female vocal riff" from her 2014 track Ring The Bell are identical to Bieber's song.
Dienel also claims that "both songs feature keyboard synthesizers, samples, synth bass, drums, and percussion".

The US musician, who is seeking compensation, claims she contacted Bieber back in December but that her requests were ignored.
Writers of Sorry, including US DJ Skrillex, have been named as defendants.
Just hours ago, Dienel took to Facebook to address the situation.
Like most artists that sample music, Bieber could have licensed my song for use in Sorry," a statement reads.
"But he chose not to contact me. After the release of Sorry my lawyers sent Bieber a letter regarding the infringement, but Bieber's team again chose to ignore me. I offered Bieber's team an opportunity to have a private dialogue about the infringement, but they refused to even acknowledge my claim, despite the obviousness of the sample.
"Justin Bieber is the world’s biggest artist, and I’m sure that he and his team will launch a full attack against me. But, in the end, I was left with no other option. I believe I have an obligation to stand up for my music and art."
