Alison Wonderland ProfileAustralian electronic dance music producer, DJ, and singer Alison Wonderland just celebrated her “Independence Day.” On Thursday (1 October), she released her first song as an independent artist, Rescue U.
In 2011, Wonderland – real name Alexandra Margo Sholler – signed her first record deal. In 2014, she signed with EMI Music Australia, which is part of Universal Music Australia. She’s released four albums: 2015’s Run, 2018’s Awake, 2022’s Loner, and last year’s Ghost World, while on record labels.
Now, with Rescue U, Wonderland embarks on a new creative journey. Reflecting on the milestone, she wrote on Instagram, “Today is my Independence Day.
“This is the first time in 15 years that I am an independent artist. Finally owning my own music & releasing it myself. The support has been amazing & I'm so excited for what’s next.”
Expressing gratitude for her fans and people at EMI who let her be herself, Wonderland continued:
Thank u all for riding with me, thank u to anyone who worked at the label who let me be myself from 2011 - 2026 (u know who u are), thank u to my friends & collaborators who told me not to quit and thank u to my fans for following me on this weird journey that is my extremely cool and always evolving career.
I AM INSPIRED. Please enjoy RESCUE U

Earlier this year, Wonderland toured Australia in support of Ghost World, playing in Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne, and Adelaide.
Since the album’s release, Wonderland has had a massive 2026, playing a sold-out run of dates in North America, and in March, was named Female Artist of the Year at the EDM Awards.
