The Sunshine Coast has scored itself a new music festival.
Dubbed Airwaves - The Drive-in Music Festival, the event will look a little different to a usual music festival with it set to happen as a drive-in event.
Punters will watch the shows from the comfort of their car at the Nambour Showgrounds across 10-12 July.
Headlining the event will be The Dreggs, The Chats and Pierce Brothers who will be joined by Sahara Beck, Bugs, Being Jane Lane and more.
The festival has been organised by event director Cindy Jensen who said that the idea was sparked when she read an article mentioning that festivals may struggle to happen this year.

“Reading it set off a rocket launch fire inside me and I wanted to bring some confidence back into an industry that has been so hard hit and affected," explained Jensen. "I miss traveling and the freedom it brings and the spacesuit represents the feeling COVID-19 confinement has had on me personally."
“It is fantastic to see local and Queensland performers being offered work in what has been a tough time for our cultural industry," said local councillor David Law.
"Using new event approaches to leverage our assets such as the Nambour Showgrounds and drive opportunities to showcase our town is a big part of the Reimagine Nambour strategy which I enthusiastically support."
