At Melbourne's Federation Square.

The African Music & Cultural Festival (AMCF) is returning to Melbourne's Federation Square this Saturday and for the second year running it will showcase music, arts and cultural performances reminiscent of the world's second largest continent.

The free family event aims to contribute to community cohesiveness and breakdown barriers to social and cultural understanding of the new and emerging African Australian community.

The inaugural event attracted a crowed of over 20,000 people last year and it is expected that 30,000 will turn out this weekend.

Commenting on its debut last year, President of the Nigerian Society of Victoria, Fred Alale said, "Seeing visitors and guests from mixed backgrounds dancing along to King Bell and other performers and the look of sheer exhilaration on their faces was truly memorable!"
