Marvel Stadium General Manager Scott Fitzgerald has teased that a major artist will perform at the venue during the week of this year’s AFL Grand Final.
In a new interview posted on the AFL website, it was noted that in 2025, Marvel Stadium hosted epic performances by the likes of Lady Gaga, Metallica, and the long-awaited reunion shows by Oasis. Plus, the venue welcomed Mariah Carey, Pitbull and others for Fridayz Live.
This year, Harry Styles, Foo Fighters, Robbie Williams, and Guns N’ Roses will perform at the 50,000+ capacity stadium in the heart of Melbourne’s CBD. But in the interview, Fitzgerald has teased that another major artist is heading to Melbourne this September.
“We’ll have a huge international artist here in Grand Final week,” the Marvel Stadium General Manager said. “The artist has been here and has filmed themselves doing different things in the stadium, so they’re right into the whole stadium piece.”
Fitzgerald added, “It’s going to be another huge event that’s happening in Melbourne during the best week of the year, Grand Final week.”

The AFL account shared a snippet of said interview on social media, captioning the post: “Harry Styles and Robbie Williams are just some of the names locked in to play at Marvel Stadium this year. But there’s a big name still to be announced 👀
“Cal Twomey spoke to the stadium’s general manager, Scott Fitzgerald, about his future plans.”
The AFL also shared a photo of an individual playing a Fender Telecaster. Some commentators on Facebook believe the cropped image resembles Bruce Springsteen, but it’s difficult to tell just by looking at a hand playing the guitar. Check out the image below and let us know what you think.
Over at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG), it was confirmed months in advance that Kylie Minogue would headline this year’s AFL Grand Final pre-game entertainment.
Minogue said when the announcement was made in March, “The AFL Grand Final at Melbourne’s one and only, forever iconic MCG? Yes please!
“As a Melburnian, I’m so excited to be coming home for the biggest day in the Aussie sporting calendar. I’ll not only be performing, but I’ll be one of 100,000 fans at the ‘G, watching the wonder that is footy.”
