The Crittenden Road venue will also welcome live entertainment following the lifting of an embargo against such events
The 24-year-old Adelaide Arena is undergoing a transformation on almost every level, with the announcement being made that the renowned Crittenden Road venue will be renamed Titanium Security Arena and open itself up to hosting live entertainment events that were previously disallowed on the premises.
This is not the first time that Titanium Security Arena has changed its name — in former lives, it was known as The Clipsal Powerhouse, The Distinctive Homes Dome and The Dome before taking on the Adelaide Arena mantle — but it will be the last for at least the next decade, with SA-owned-and-operated company Titanium Security locking down a 10-year naming-rights deal with the venue.
As part of the new stage in the arena's life, Adelaideans will be stoked to hear that an embargo previously preventing the venue from hosting live entertainment beyond its staple sporting events has been lifted, meaning that the 8000-person-capacity space will now be able to hold up to 18 live events each calendar year.
"Whilst most Adelaideans may know the venue as the home of the 36ers basketball and a multi-sport venue, we are excited to announce that an embargo prohibiting us from hosting live entertainment events has been lifted," Titanium Security Arena general manager Guy Hedderwick said in a statement.

"This change presents a great opportunity for promoters to look at a new venue option for hosting events in Adelaide. We're not going head-to-head with the Entertainment Centre — we are quite different venues — but there may be occasions where one venue or another is unavailable and event managers, exhibition hosts or entertainment promoters now have a wider choice of venues in Adelaide. Competition is healthy for everyone."
Also new at the arena will be its catering team, now staffed by Titanium Arena Catering, managed by Adelaide Oval Catering, with the capacity to host dinners for 12-200 people and cocktail parties up to 320 guests. The 1000-guest-capacity Arena Bowl is also available for dinners and cocktail parties.
In addition to its relationship with the 36ers, Titanium Security Arena will also host a range of events, including:
