Plus a few ARIA Award-winning bumps should be felt
Legendary Aussie rockers AC/DC are expected to debut strongly in this week's ARIA Albums Chart, possibly challenging pop singer Taylor Swift for the number one spot.
AC/DC's new album Rock Or Bust is their first studio LP since 2008's Black Ice and is on track to come close to dethroning Swift's 1989 from the top. The release of Rock Or Bust has come at a challenging and changing time for AC/DC, with the recent retirement of Malcolm Young and drummer Phil Rudd's criminal charges.
The other local debut that is expected to make waves this week will be urban-pop outfit Justice Crew and Live By The Words. The LP is on track to crack this week's top ten. Also keep an eye out for indie-electro muso Chet Faker to reappear in the top 20 via his new iTunes Session collection. The singer nabbed two ARIA Awards last week thanks to his debut LP Built On Glass. The festive season effect will also kick in this week, with moves back in the chart from Michael Buble, Mariah Carey and locals Human Nature.
Over to the ARIA Singles Chart and we should see a couple of new tracks feature including I'm An Albatroz from European DJ Aron Chupa, Beyonce's 7/11 and Blame It On Me by soon-to-be-touring George Ezra. Brisbane indie-pop troupe Sheppard will also enjoy ARIA-winning impact this week. Their huge 2014 hit Geronimo should move back into the top 40.
