More AC/DC More AC/DC

Twisted Sister frontman Dee Snider has thrown his support behind a new campaign aiming to get AC/DC to perform at next year's Superbowl halftime show.

Just a week after Jennifer Lopez and Shakira performed in Miami, a few thousand people have signed a new petition to get the iconic rockers on the NFL stage.

In a video message to the NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell, Snider said rock'n'roll hasn't been represented at the halftime show in some time, with recent performers for the gig including Maroon 5, Lady Gaga, Coldplay, Bruno Mars, Beyoncé and Madonna.

"I'm not against any other kind of music. I think all music should be represented sooner or later at the Superbowl... " Snider said.

"It has been a very long time... that a hard rock band, a real rock band, has been represented at the halftime show and I think that it is time."

Snider went onto say that with talk of vocalist Brian Johnson reuniting with the band and a rumoured album on the way, AC/DC would be the perfect fit.

"They have so many hit songs, you play so many of their songs at every single game... they would bring down the house," he said.

Talk of an AC/DC reunion has been constant for some time, with a US radio station even claiming last year that a world tour announcement was imminent, while it has been rumoured that the group have been in the studio working on a new record.
