50 Cent Takes Over Sydney's Luna Park For 'Street Fighter' Film

50 Cent is working on a film based on the video game Street Fighter, and Australia gets to be a part of the fun.

Last week, Hip-Hop DX reported that the rapper, actor, producer and entrepreneur had started working on the film after sharing an image of the Street Fighter logo on his Instagram.

“I haven’t been posting because I’m working on my new movie Street Fighter,” he wrote. “I’m working what you doing?”

According to Hip-Hop DX, 50 Cent will star as the character Balrog, and his fellow castmates are set to include heavyhitters such as Jason Momoa, Andrew Koji, Noah Centineo, David Dastmalchian, and alt-country musician Orville Peck. Making the film even larger, it’s also set to feature WWE superstars Roman Reigns and Cody Rhodes.

And now, it seems there’s some filming happening at the Sydney landmark, Luna Park, and 50 Cent and the team have taken over the place.

Sharing a video from the park, 50 Cent wrote on Instagram on Monday (8 September), “Street Fighter we have the coolest cast and crew on this movie 🎥 we out doing shit, I took over the park so no one could be there but us. 👀what you doing on your movie! 😆suckers.”

The new Street Fighter film is set to be directed by Kitao Sakurai and hit cinemas sometime in 2026.

50 Cent last toured Australia in December 2023. Reviewing the Perth stop on his “The Final Lap” tour, The Music’s Sam Mead wrote, “A 50 Cent show is more than just a rapper at a concert - it’s an all-out multimedia art extravaganza beaming out into the cosmos.” 

50 Cent’s 2023 Australian tour also celebrated the 20th anniversary of his seminal LP, Get Rich Or Die Tryin’, which boosted 50 Cent to become a household name and gain recognition as one of the most talented and prolific artists in the world.
