Currently in Australia on the back of last weekend's Fire Fight Australia concert, 5 Seconds Of Summer joined The Green Room with Neil Griffiths podcast in Sydney this week!

The hometown group, who are also celebrating hitting one billion streams with 2018 hit Youngblood, discussed their forthcoming album CALM, due out on 27 March, the new direction in sound and evolving as both a band and individuals.

"From 15, 16 (years old)... it's gonna be a massive change, regardless," frontman Luke Hemmings told host Neil Griffiths.

"In our circumstances, it was pretty rapid. We had to grow up pretty quickly. It was not the usual incubation that a normal 16-year-old has. It's changed a fair bit.

"I feel like us being from Australia or being friends and growing up together has kept us pretty level-headed and the same.

"But stuff's changed. We live in America now. We do this crazy band thing, we play shows around the world. It's a different life, of course, but I dunno, we still kind of keep our head on straight, I feel like."

5SOS will return to Australia this November for a huge headline tour in support of CALM; check out theGuide for more details.
