The figures are damning
UK police are currently investigating over 1,400 men — 43 of which are music industry figures — over allegations of child abuse in the past.
According to The Guardian, figures from England and Wales show that exactly 1,433 individuals have been identified as alleged abusers since the operation was initially set up last year.
Of that number, 216 are deceased, 76 are local and national politicians, 43 come from the music industry, 135 are in the entertainment business and seven are involved in sport — these also include the recent cases of Australian entertainer Rolf Harris, Gary Glitter and Max Clifford.
Last July, Harris was found guilty of twelve charges after indecently assaulting four girls and sentenced to five years of prison.
