“Our promise to Sydney is an exciting and upbeat breakfast alternative."
Sydney’s 2DayFM has confirmed the cancellation of its breakfast show, with hosts Grant Denyer, Ed Kavalee and Ash London.
Struggling to find any consistency since the departure of Kyle & Jackie O in 2014, 2DayFM will now simply play music during the morning slot.
“Our promise to Sydney is an exciting and upbeat breakfast alternative for Sydneysiders on their morning commute where they can expect us to play just music for breakfast,” Hit Network boss Gemma Fordham said.
“A huge thank you must go to our breakfast show team, Grant, Ed & Ash, for the past 18 months – they are absolute professionals, have been a true delight to work with and have contributed to a culture of fun, community and inclusiveness we are proud of at 2Day.”
London will continue to host Ash London Live daily, while Kavalee will fill in for Kate Langbroek on the station's afternoon show while she is on holiday and Denyer will “continue making appearances around the Network”.
In 2017, Harley Breen departed the show, with co-host Em Rusciano joined by Ed Kavalee and Grant Denyer until she quit in 2018.

The breakfast show has struggled to compete for ratings against other FM shows, which is consistent with former teams who have fronted 2DayFM breakfast, including Rove & Sam and Dan & Maz.
