The record is their fifth studio album and will release on the 14th of October. It was recorded at Real World Studios in Wiltshire, United Kingdom and Electric Lady Studios in New York.

Being Funny In A Foreign Language was initially teased via postcards that featured the tracklist of the record, as well as posters appearing across major cities with July 7 as a significant date.

The band which formed 20 years ago are one of the defining bands of their generation with their unique aesthetic, cult fan base and glitzy, unique and consistently relevant sonic approach to record making.

Part Of The Band was produced alongside Jack Antonoff alongside Matt Healy and bandmate George Daniel, alongside additional vocals from Japanese Breakfast's Michelle Zauner.

In classic The 1975 fashion, lyrically the track travels to many unique places all tied together by Healy's distinct vocal presence, featuring phrases including "ejaculation," "ironically woke," "cancellation," and a line that is already catching ears globally, "“I like my men like I like my coffee – full of soy milk and so sweet it won’t offend anybody whilst staining the pages of The Nation.”

The single also lands alongside a music video which is directed by Samuel Bradley, which is shot on black and white film in a picturesque country-scape.

Being Funny In A Foreign Language releases on the 14th of October and is available to pre order now via the band's website HERE.
