"18 tracks and one hour of powerhouse rock with all manner of twists and turns."

It's irritating when you hear such ridiculous generalisations as 'there's no good rock music around these days'.

There are plenty of bands doing great stuff with rock - and Texans Nothing More are one of them. These guys tread that fine line between writing ultra-catchy, anthemic, adrenaline-pumping rock music, and taking their music in innovative directions while remaining interesting at all times. The Stories We Tell Ourselves is a real journey, 18 tracks and one hour of powerhouse rock with all manner of twists and turns, with Jonny Hawkins' majestic, unique voice soaring over the top.

This is among the best rock albums of the year, no question.
