The Australian Music Touring Network has just launched, opening a new, national venue platform that connects the country’s live music community.

Developed by the Australian Music Industry Network (AMIN) and assisted by the Australian Government through Music Australia and Creative Australia, the free national platform has been designed with connection in mind – to bring venues, artists, tour managers, and industry professionals together.

For the first time, the Australian Music Touring Network will be home to the country’s live music venues via a map-based directory. Artists and their teams will have the ability to find suitable venues and unlock new touring opportunities, all while building stronger connections across Australia.

The first step of the network’s national rollout is opening venue registrations, with the full public platform for artists, tour managers, and the broader music community to launch later this year.

In a statement, Emily Tulloch, the Acting General Manager of the Australian Music Industry Network, shared, “Touring is the lifeblood of our industry, and knowing where to take your music and who to connect with is essential to every artist.

“The Australian Music Touring Network connects artists to venues and promotes touring and industry relationships across the country. I’m really proud to be working on a project that addresses equity of access to information, and provides the tools needed to form the relationships that underpin successful touring.”

Tulloch continued, “AMIN is thrilled to announce the stage one launch of the Australian Music Touring Network, a project we’ve been working on behind the scenes over the past two years.

“AMIN’s deep acknowledgment of the inherently local nature of Australian musicmaking underpins this project, which seeks to connect the right artists to the right venues across the country. We warmly encourage every Australian original music venue, no matter how small or how large, to be a part of this network.”

Live music venues that host regularly original contemporary live music across Australia are invited – and encouraged – to register their venue for free and enter the Australian Music Touring Network.

If you operate a live music venue, you can register to enter the Australian Music Touring Network here ahead of the full website launching in October.
