Melbourne/Naarm hardcore outfit Terminal Sleep have gone from strength to strength since their formation in 2022, and they’re continuing their impressive rise by signing to the German metal record label, Nuclear Blast Records.
In June, Terminal Sleep were added to a massive bill of international melodic hardcore as Counterparts brought their musical onslaught to Australia with special guests Dying Wish. Those shows came just weeks before the Australian band went over to the UK and Europe, where they’re presently touring and playing huge festivals.
This month, Terminal Sleep are also set to open for SPEED in Melbourne, and will appear at this year’s Blacken Open Air in the Northern Territory this September. Having supported other bands such as Harms Way, Mindsnare, Kublai Khan TX, Knocked Loose, and more, Terminal Sleep have been on a steady rise, and signing with Nuclear Blast Records will serve to boost their international visibility.
On Thursday (10 July), Terminal Sleep released their first single under Nuclear Blast Records with the ferocious number, They Circle Below. According to a teaser they shared on Instagram, Terminal Sleep are also preparing to launch a brand-new era.
“Big love to everyone who’s been listening to us from the start, anyone who’s joined us along the way, and those stumbling upon us now,” the band wrote. “New era incoming and we couldn’t be more excited.”

In a statement, they added, “It is a privilege to be welcomed into the family amongst so many legendary bands we grew up listening to, and fresh new bands we have on repeat. We could not be more excited to bring in the new era of Terminal Sleep with Tommy and the whole team at Nuclear Blast!”
Nuclear Blast American Label Manager & A&R Tommy Jones said, “Last year a pal of mine hit me with a link and said, ‘Check this out.’ It was to a few unreleased songs by Terminal Sleep from Melbourne, Australia. One listen and a bit of research and I was all the way in!
“Last January, I saw the TS crew from down under in Hamburg, Germany …and holy hopping kangaroos, I was completely blown away! Bec [Thorwesten, vocals] was in full on beastmode and I thought she was going to eliminate the entire room. A must-see. I am ecstatic to usher in Terminal Sleep to the worldwide Nuclear Blast family! LFG, don’t sleep!”
By signing with Nuclear Blast Records, Terminal Sleep join a roster alongside Fear Factory, Cradle Of Filth, Ministry, Nightwish, Testament, and many more.
