The annual Screen Music Awards have been confirmed to return in 2023, with the first details for this year’s ceremony announced today by APRA AMCOS and the Australian Guild of Screen Composers (AGSC).
Hosted by renowned multi-hyphenate Susie Youssef – a comedian, actor, writer and improviser with an impressive portfolio of theatre and TV projects (The Tempest and Deadloch, respectively, amongst them) – the event will be held at The Forum in Naarm/Melbourne on Thursday November 9. Also leading the event will be musical director Erkki Veltheim, who will lead the Screen Awards orchestra in performances of this year’s four Feature Film Score Of The Year nominations.
This year’s Screen Music Awards will crown 13 winners, including the prestigious title for Distinguished Services To The Australian Screen; Nigel Westlake took the honour out at last year’s ceremony, while the award for Feature Film Score Of The Year went to Salliana Seven Campbell for her work on The Drover's Wife: The Legend of Molly Johnson. Nominees for this year’s awards will be announced on Thursday October 5.
