In exciting news from Playbill Group, which manages Sydney’s Hordern Pavilion, the venue management specialist company has formed a new partnership with a division of the Los Angeles-based AEG, AEG Presents, and Frontier Touring.

Playbill Group was established in Sydney in 1958 by Brian and Jocelyn Nebenzahl and remains an integral part of the Australian entertainment industry. The company operates in 12 countries worldwide and partners with major sporting teams, big-time musicals, theatre, music and dance companies, and numerous international artists.

Meanwhile, AEG Presents has tent-pole festivals, including Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival, BST Hyde Park, Stagecoach, and stacks more, as well as the promotion of global tours by Paul McCartney, Taylor Swift, The Rolling Stones, Ed Sheeran, Elton John, Celine Dion, BLACKPINK, and many others. AEG Presents has also partnered with an expansive list of partner brands, including Australia’s Frontier Touring.

Frontier, of course, is one of the country’s most successful, proactive, and long-standing concert promoters. It has entertained the public in Australia and New Zealand for over four decades.

The three companies revealed in a joint statement that business will remain as it is.

Michael Nebenzahl will continue as Managing Director of Playbill. In a statement, Nebenzahl said he’s “delighted” by the partnership with AEG Presents and Frontier Touring. “We have always prided ourselves on serving our customers, whether in musical theatre, sport or as a venue through the Hordern Pavilion.

“In AEG, we have found a like-minded partner to continue to honour the legacy my parents created when they founded the business.”

Anthony Dunsford, the GM of Playbill Venues, said: “The Hordern and Frontier have a long-standing relationship bringing the best live music to Sydney. We look forward to continuing our role to bring iconic acts to the fans.”

Frontier Touring CEO Dion Brant added that the concert promoter has “always” held a “great affinity” with the Hordern Pavilion and considers the venue, now celebrating its 100th year, “to be one of the very best live music venues in the world today for both artists and fans.”

Brant continued, “Playbill’s merchandise division has been a mainstay of the theatre scene in Australia for over 60 years and is now a major force on the world stage. Michael has a great team, and we look forward to partnering with them in the next era of their iconic business.”
