MusicNSW, the peak body for contemporary music in New South Wales, has unveiled its latest in a series of artist support programs.
Today, it’s announced the launch of New Wave, the home of in-person and digital workshops, events, and development programs for artists across the state.
The inaugural series will take place from June to August and feature more than 40 industry and community leaders, offering invaluable advice on the music business, with items including recording and releasing music, performing and touring, marketing and promotion.
New Wave kicks off with nine events. They happen from 24-27 June in locations such as Sydney, Wollongong, Newcastle, Parramatta, Mullumbimby, Bathurst, Kiama, and Wagga Wagga, as well as online. Artists and industry leaders, including Cloud Control’s Alister Wright, FBi Radio’s Bri Kennedy, Lola Scott, CLEWS’ Lily Richardson and others, will lead the first wave of sessions.
Additional members of the industry coming on board in July and August include Laneway Festival’s Ella Avni, Nothing On In Sydney’s Yagmur, Seatbelt Collective’s Zoey Simpson, and more. You can find more details about the events below.
Interested artists can apply and register for New Wave’s first events from today. Head to the MusicNSW website for more information.
