Music Production for Women (MPW) have announced Master Your Music, a virtual summit for women looking to boost their careers in the music industry, which will be held later this month.
The event will run virtually over Zoom next Saturday (January 13), with hopeful attendees encouraged to claim their free tickets via MPW’s website. It’s been described by the organisation as “a uniquely heart-warming experience where you will spend a day learning from the best in the music industry, while also making new friends in an extremely warm, supportive and inclusive environment”.
The summit will comprise a series of specialty-tailored workshops all focused on different areas of the music industry, including beginner-level music production, mixing, music marketing and vocal production (among other topics). It’s also noted that all of the sessions will be “practical and beginner-friendly”, welcoming musicians of all experience and skill levels. There will also be networking sessions for likeminded artists and professionals to connect and bolster their relationships.
According to the event’s website, skills taught throughout the Master Your Music event will include:
How to bring your musical vision to life without the frustration of relying on others.
How to create a plan for your music to target your efforts.
The process of producing great tracks without having prior experience in production.
Tips for recording and producing vocals at home.
What is mixing and the steps involved for beginners.
How to get the most out of your production sessions and working effectively.
The basics of using a music production software for the first time.
How to create and track your goals to reach them more often
How to improve your mindset and learn your strengths as a musician and as an individual.
Hosting the event will be MPW founder Xylo Aria, who since launching the platform, has been named a Top 50 East London Innovator, included on the SheSaidSo Alt 100 Power List, and worked with iconic brands and industry staples like Distrokid, Focusrite, Ableton and Abbey Road Studios. She’ll be joined on the day by Grammy-winning audio engineer, music producer and arranger-composer Natalia Milanesi, artist Lillian Frances, and renowned PR and artist manager AK Siegl.
