Renowned multi-hyphenate Michael Christiano has joined the team at Ambition Entertainment – Australia’s “premier independent contemporary music company”, as per their website – as its latest in-house creative partner.
Recognised on a government level as one of Australia’s brightest musical talents, Christiano has an incredible portfolio to his name – across multiple decades, he’s worked on records by the likes of The Seekers, Judith Durham, Silverchair, André Rieu and more (his full discography can be found here). Several albums to bear his talents have topped the ARIA Charts and racked up multiple Platinum certifications.
In his new role at Ambition, Christiano will work as an in-house producer and oversee the company’s creative music services. In a press statement, Robert Rigby – the company’s managing director – praised Christiano as “one of Australia’s most highly acclaimed record producers, composers and an exceptional performer in his own right”.
Ambition offers a full suite of management, production and distribution services for artists, with their roster boasting acts like Tina Arena, Renée Geyer, Marcia Hines, Damian Leith and Russell Morris.
In a statement on its website, the Ambition team says of its approach to working with artists: “We take pride in the way we manage relationships, nurture, promote and market our artists and their projects. Our speciality is working a project until it has realised its full potential. Some may call this an "old school" music practice but we call it having belief and attention to detail.”
Working with Ambition, Christiano mixed and produced Morris’ forthcoming live album The Real Thing – the show itself performed at Hamer Hall in Naarm/Melbourne with a ten-piece band and 55-piece orchestra – which is due out on October 6. You can pre-order the album here, with a preview available below.
