Two live music legends have passed the baton to Meagan (Meg) Walker at ASM Global.
Harvey Lister AM, the Chairman and Chief Executive of ASM Global (APAC), shared that Walker, a venue management professional and entertainment industry specialist, will replace Tim Worton CVE as the company’s Group Director of Arena Operations. Worton announced his retirement earlier this year to pursue a pastoral, chaplaincy or ministry role.
Worton will work closely with Walker as she embarks on the transition before he departs after an incredible 30-year career at ASM Global. Walker will soon leave her role at Live Nation and begin the new job on Thursday, 10 October.
Throughout her career, Walker has made a name for herself by holding senior management roles in some of Australia’s most successful and high-profile venues, including Melbourne institutions such as Rod Laver Arena, Margaret Court Arena, John Cain Arena, and the Palais Theatre.
In addition to those roles, Walker has been affiliated with the Venue Management School for 13 years, as well as the Leadership Institute since its early days. She also serves as a board member of the Venue Management Association (VMA).
In her new role, Walker will lead the ASM Global arena network across Australia and support other arena venues in the Australasia region. She will focus on event acquisition, operational planning, and delivery.

In a statement, Walker said about having the baton passed to her by the ASM Global team, “I look forward to contributing to the ongoing strong performance and growth of the ASM Global portfolio by collaborating with all stakeholders and supporting the team to achieve their personal and professional goals while ensuring ASM arenas maintain their world’s best practice reputation.
“I know ASM to be deeply passionate about making an experience - the experience - for patrons and stakeholders and I look forward to supporting that shared goal.”
Lister added, “The depth and scale of Meg’s experience in the operation of major events and live entertainment is the perfect fit to lead our portfolio of world-class arenas, frequently featured in Billboard, Pollstar and Rolling Stone.
“Both Meg Walker and Tim Worton have long been recognised as legends in the industry and we are so fortunate to be the recipients of their expertise and professionalism as part of our management team. Meg has proven to be an accomplished event professional with strategic and collaborative leadership skills.”
