GYRO.Group has a major announcement rolling out today regarding new appointments and promotions of its senior staff.

GYRO.Group is Australia’s leading independent music distribution and artist services company, running G.Y.R.O., DistroDirect, GROUP SPEED and Soothe Sounds. Today, the company announces the expansion of its team, now home to more than 70 people worldwide, as it continues to build on recent successes.

Henry Compton leads today’s announcement, joining as Head of APAC for DistroDirect. With over two decades of experience in business development, marketing, and client relations, Compton’s appointment arrives as DistroDirect stretches its footprint across Southeast Asia.

Matthew Rogers, CCO of GYRO.Group, said of Henry’s appointment, “Henry is exactly the calibre of executive we’ve been building towards bringing into the DistroDirect fold.

“His track record of building and scaling operations in this market is second to none. Having Henry lead that charge in APAC gives us enormous confidence about what’s ahead — both for the partners we serve in those markets and for the Australian artists we want to bring with us.”

Meanwhile, GYRO.Group has announced numerous internal promotions. Adrian Burke has been named Executive Vice President of Artist Services and A&R following his experience leading GROUP SPEED.

Further changes include Alison Bremner moving into the role of General Manager – Marketing, Harry Young named Head of A&R for AU/NZ, Alexandria Thomson promoted to Artist Marketing Lead for Australia and New Zealand, Claire Hirayama-Kaarsberg named DistroDirect’s Partner Relations Manager, Alyssa d’Artenay moving to Pitching and Artist Services Management, and Kriza Canzon receiving an expanded Artist Support and Compliance portfolio.

Vivienne Mellish, CMO and Co-Founder of GYRO.Group, said of the promotions of Adrian Burke and Alison Bremner, “Adrian and Alison have been central to building what GYRO.Group looks and feels like — from the artist campaigns we run to the brands we put into the world.

“Formalising their leadership at this level is a reflection of the extraordinary work they’ve done and the even bigger roles they’re going to play as we grow. The wider team changes are a reflection of the growth and ambition of the people in our corner, and we couldn’t be prouder to have them with us on the journey.”

GYRO.Group announces the changes after helping five of its artists achieve chart-topping releases on the ARIA Charts. Said artists include Keli Holiday, Bad//Dreems, YNG Martyr, Sly Withers, and Tom Busby.

“We are doubling down on our investment in Australian artists and in the people and platforms it takes to get them heard globally,” commented Andy Irvine, CEO and Co-Founder of GYRO.Group.

“Our goal is to be the biggest net exporter of Australian music, and every decision we are making right now — who we hire, where we expand, what technology we build — is pointed directly at that.”
