Eora/Sydney-based music services company Good Intent is celebrating its fifth anniversary in 2023, and to celebrate, the team behind it have announced a free party tied in to this year’s BIGSOUND festival.
With beers supplied by fellow Sydney staple Philter, the free-to-attend event will go down at the Black Bear Lodge in Meanjin/Brisbane on Monday September 4, kicking off at 6pm. It’ll feature live performances from from Bootleg Rascal and Juno, as well as DJ sets from RedHook’s Emmy Mack, Jimmy Kleiner of Select Music, and members of the Good Intent team themselves.
Also sure to make for an entertaining watch, Rob Carroll (managing director of Good Intent) will attempt to break the Guinness World Record for the “longest dancing of the Macarena”.
In a press statement, Carroll said of the significance behind Good Intent celebrating five years in the Australian music industry: “I'm really tired. That aside, I feel extremely grateful to have made it to five years and build something really special with some great friends, Nick Moran and Rick Bridgman. Thank you to all our team, artists, managers, labels, promoters, media, venues and anyone else who supports us – we wouldn't be here today without you.
“We're always striving to do our best for the wider music community, and that approach will always continue for as long as we can / until hopefully some bigger company buys us out, and I can finally shave my head, get all spiritual and move to India.”
Good Intent have tangible proof of their efforts to do good, such as their annual Greater Good initiative, which supports up-and-coming artists with in-kind services and cash grants.
