EXCLUSIVE: Sydney's Burdekin Hotel Unveils Burdekin Bandroom, Announces Launch Parties

Acts such as POSSESHOT, Kirin J Callinan, Radium Dolls and more will perform at the venue's launch parties.

Sydney-based music venue The Burdekin Hotel is expanding its footprint, this morning announcing the launch of its Burdekin Bandroom.

The freshly refurbished space is expected to become one of Sydney’s essential new homes for live music. Found at the gateway to Oxford Street in Darlinghurst, the venue’s multi-room offering and focus on live performances open a new chapter for Sydney’s music scene.

With the launch of the bandroom, The Burdekin Hotel sets itself apart as a multi-level entertainment facility. It features two bandrooms with capacities of 300 and 160, as well as a dedicated space for electronic music, which welcomes 140 punters in the room.

The venue’s Head Booker, Amelia Vesperman, said of today’s announcement, “We’ve always been about building culture, but that requires a venue partner who ‘gets it’ - not just the bottom line.

“The Burdekin is stepping up at a time when Sydney needs it most. It’s a massive win to work with people who treat the scene with the respect it deserves, rather than just another commodity to be managed.”

To celebrate the opening of the Burdekin Bandroom, the venue is hosting ambitious and varied launch parties happening from May to July.

Featuring performances by established and up-and-coming artists alike, the venue will host acts such as POSSESHOT, Kirin J Callinan, HEISTS, Charli Lucas, Front End Loader, and Radium Dolls, with more to be announced soon. You can check out the already-announced schedule below.
