Sixteen-year-old DRIZZZ has been named the triple j Unearthed High winner for 2025.
Winning the competition with an authentic flow, energetic bars, and unparalleled heavy vibes, DRIZZZ has been impressing the Unearthed crew since his drill track, Who’s Dat!, landed in mid-July.
Already regarded as one of the most exciting voices in Australian hip-hop, triple j Unearthed Music Director Claire Mooney said of the South-West Sydney-based artist: “It’s impossible to ignore an Unearthed High entry that crashes through the noise with as much confidence, charisma, and energy as sixteen-year-old DRIZZZ.
“Who’s Dat is a statement track, one so impressive we had to double-check his age! Razor-sharp bars, flow and presence that hits instantly, boosted with the slickest UK Hip Hop production, DRIZZZ is already sounding ready for the big leagues. One of the most exciting voices we’ve heard all year, and we’re so proud to crown DRIZZZ as our new Unearthed High champion!”

DRIZZZ found out the huge news yesterday (20 August) when triple j Breakfast hosts Concetta and Luka revealed that he was this year’s Unearthed High winner with a surprise visit to his school. You can watch the moment DRIZZZ found out he was this year’s Unearthed High winner below.
As part of the prize of being crowned Unearthed High champion of 2025, DRIZZZ will receive a songwriting session from hip-hop producer Nerve, plus additional mentorship and support from industry experts and the triple j team.
In addition to DRIZZZ’s win, triple j has also named the Unearthed High Indigenous Initiative winner: sixteen-year-old Gomeroi songwriter Kyla Belle.
With an alt-country feel utilised to explore songs of identity, it’s not surprising that she won over the Unearthed panel. As part of her prize, she’s set to team up with Australian producer and engineer Konstantin Kersting, who will mix her next single, as well as mentorship from triple j Blak Out and 3% rapper Nooky.
