Fourteen groups and solo artists have been chosen for this year’s edition of MusicSA’s Scouted program.
Gathering some of South Australia’s brightest unsigned and emerging talents, the chosen artists will perform at the music venues Ed Castle, Jive, and The Grace Emily in Adelaide/Kaurna Yerta on Friday, 1 August.
Acts selected for this year’s showcase include DIY punk rockers LOLA, Malawian-Australian R&B singer Ms Chipeta, whimsical indie band The Dainty Morsels, and Arrernte man and up-and-coming hip-hop artist Bousta. In addition to those artists, Scouted will star alt folk artist Bella Brinkworth, hyper-pop/metal fusion band MACËY, Y2K-inspired pop artist RENAÉ, punk outfit The Munch, and more. South Australian Minister for Arts, Andrea Michaels MP, added: “South Australia is a renowned UNESCO City of Music, and the Malinauskas Government is committed to cementing that legacy by supporting opportunities for local artists as well as boosting our live music venues.
“Scouted provides local artists the opportunity to connect with new audiences and showcase their talents to the delegates of Indie-Con and Indie Week - Australian Edition, while drawing people to Adelaide’s favourite music venues.”
