Vektor was originally formed in 2002 and led by frontman and guitarist David DiSanto. After disbanding in 2011, the band officially announced their return in May 2020. DiSanto reunited with longtime guitarist Erik Nelson, bringing in Mike Ohlson on drums and Stephen Coon on bass. The reformed lineup began writing new material and preparing for upcoming tours.
On December 16, 2020, Vektor released “Activate,” their first new song in four years. The track appeared on Transmissions of Chaos, a split EP with Cryptosis, which was released in February 25, 2021.
Their debut album, Black Future, was released on November 17, 2009 via Heavy Artillery Records. This was followed by Outer Isolation on November 22, 2011, also through Heavy Artillery.
In early 2016, Vektor toured the U.S. as openers for Voivod. After relocating to Philadelphia and years of extensive touring, they released their third album Terminal Redux—a 70+ minute conceptual opus—on May 6, 2016 via Earache Records.
