TGK - The Transylvanian Kings are kicking off four weeks of multicultural music programmed on Lolo The Caravan Stage as part of VIVID Festival's Fire Kitchen Precinct, along the Goods Line. Just a brief stroll from Central Station into the Spicy Heart of Haymarket will find you amongst the sizzling fire pits and the multicultural beats of Sydney's beating heart! 6pm - 11pm. Family Friendly and Free.



TGK play the latest horas from Bucharest, traditional boys dances where they slap themselves, and hit pop posts from non-stop Romanian bars. Their style is very distinctive, with lots of black leather and macho jewelry from downtown Cluj Napoca/Koloszsvar (capital of Transylvania). Often they were called ‘Transylvanian Gypsy Kings’, ‘Terribly Gentlemanly Kings’ etc.

Ncu (vocals, keys) and Lucian (violin) have taught members of Australian lady group Vardos in their regular trips to Eastern Europe to study folk and Rroma (sometimes known as Gypsy) music. Dragomir (electric bass) is tall ,handsome from middle European background, whose family escaped Stasi persecution.
