Kick those Monday blues to the curb at Social Sanctuary – your weekly night of free live music at NSC. We've lined up a stellar roster of your fave local artists and some exciting new talents breezing through town!

This week Mia June, Sol Hopkins and Twisted Fix are stopping by for a show. Mia June’s 2025 sophomore EP ‘Brain Like Computer’ is an act of rebellion wrapped in tenderness. The four piano-driven tracks are intimate and unguarded, the lyrics poke and jab, both with wit and a sharp emotional edge. Taking influence from luminaries such as Fiona Apple and Mitski, June’s music teeters on the fence between gritty alternative and gentle folk, resulting in songs that read like an unruly scrapbook. There is substance and intention behind every word and every sound, always a little rough around the edges.Sol weaves a tapestry of Antipodean outsider songcraft – from 60s surf soundtrack to 80s jangle, 2000s dolewave to contemporary bedroom psych. He was born in Melbourne in the year 2000, began tinkering with Garageband not long after, and has been making sweet little DIY pop gems ever since. His debut album is nearing completion and due for release when he gets around to it.Twisted Fix delivers a vibrant blend of British indie, pop, and punk influences, capturing the complexities and contradictions of youth in the 21st century. With songwriting inspired by the 60s and an angst/hedonism inspired by the 90s, their music explores themes of love, loneliness, regret, and the monotony of modern life, with introspective yet catchy lyrics, melodic vocals, lush harmonies, and infectious guitar riffs.

Social Sanctuary is proud to be sponsored by Mountain Goat. Our show is being held on the lands of the Wurundjeri People and we wish to acknowledge them as the Traditional Owners of this land we are gathered on.
