What?

Sienna Thornton’s highly anticipated new album ‘Birding Out’ (released through Bedroom Suck Records) will be performed in it’s entirety by a 12 piece ensemble once only for the album launch on the 31st of October. The album weaves together coral harmonies, layers of strings, hypnotic basslines and sax exploration in the creation of sonic homes for memories, dreams and spirits within memorable landscapes.

Musicians joining Sienna on the night are Claire Abougleis (bass), Zac Millner-Cretney (drums and keys), Flora Carbo (sax), Lily Tait (violin), Lucy Stimpson (violin), Sophie Dahm (viola), Liv Jansz (voice), Lisa Salvo (voice), Emma Stuart (voice), Megan Williamson (voice), Mei McCracken (voice) and Harriet Fraser-Barbour (voice).

Before the headline join us for two sets but the incredible powers of Punko and Osraaly respectively.

PUNKO

Punko creates electronic music that fuses elements of pop, ambient and post-punk together, creating a rich and hypnotic soundscape of synths and layered vocal harmonies.

Since releasing their debut album Plants Singing in 2022, they are currently exploring a DIY approach to dance music in their production and performance. Punko’s latest body of work explores the spectrum of isolation and connection, bodies of water, the esoteric and evokes a feeling of fertile new-life energy.

OSTRAALY

The songs of beloved Katharine Daly discuss (amongst many things):

bodies of water, goldminers, feedback loops, war, worry worry, the Mayor of Vancouver, teachers, friendship, gumtrees, sex, primary school running races, love, pain, stolen land, and love and pain on stolen land.

Some of these were played with her friends in Ostraaly between 2016-2020, some of whomst will share some of them with you. Keeping spirit alive with song.
