Naarm Art Rockers Milk Bar Gang announce a special afternoon show to celebrate the release of their new concept EP “Shudder”, which follows a doomed and flawed trajectory of Birth, Life and Death in just 4 songs. Fronted by the enchanting Beijing born ballet dancer Bianca Cao and mad keyboard wizard Felix Chapple (Meloncholiflowers, Frente, Beachchromers), Milk Bar Gang will play with their full live band of droogs, showcasing their original genre bending sounds and theatrics.
Following the more whimsical ( but no less twisted) Debut EP OPEN, SHUDDER is darker and heavier in its outlook. The first track “The Accident” described by reviewers as a “dark indie punk mystery”, “ a Lynchian diorama” and “Chorally Lynchian delirium”
Milk Bar Gang look forward to bringing their perverted synth soundscapes to the Bergy Bandroom.
Special Guests for the afternoon will be the awesome Kxx and Entwined.
Kxx will bring along their powerful indie punk artistry, fronted by the superb Kristine Allan on vocals and Guitar and with members who have worked with such luminaries as Ollie Olsen and Michael Hutchence, this powerhouse four piece are not to be missed.
Kicking off the afternoon will be Entwined featuring the ethereal vocals of Fi MacKay and wondrous musicianship of Loff Kahans (Maelstrom, Sunshine Harvester). Entwined weave delectable grooves evocative of Portishead and Massive Attack.
Three of the finest fresh new bands on one bill, on a Sunday Afternoon, with 3 incredible front women. It’s a Sunday sonic smorgasbord bound to satisfy curious tastes.
