What?
Merpire's fans had mixed feelings of shock, disappointment and joy when learning her two solo 'MILK POOL' album launch shows in Naarm / Melbourne had sold out in less than 72 hours, two months in advance. For those who missed out on the August shows, Merpire is thrilled to announce a final album launch show, this time with her full band at one of Merpire's favourite-sounding venues, Howler in Brunswick on the 9th of October.
Merpire's last album launch for her first record, 'Simulation Ride' saw her surprising the crowd by disappearing off the main stage and turning up on a side stage for a different point of view and inviting a choir up for a song. In true Merpire fashion, she has surprises and special guests planned for this Howler show.
Fluid and indeterminate of age, Merpire’s second record, MILK POOL holds a deep and pure romanticism for places and people and how that changes with time. If Merpire sounds vaguely familiar to you, you might've heard her as Double J's 'feature album', or seen her when you flicked through Rolling Stone magazine, Beat Mag, Paul Dempsey's instagram story or as The Music's cover artist. Or maybe you saw her on tour with Bernard Fanning and Paul Dempsey (Fanning Dempsey National Park) and Bombay Bicycle Club (UK) late last year.
With new fans around the country falling quickly in love with Merpire’s new music and eagerly awaiting her next show, don't miss out on this one.

'"Every new Merpire track is a new opportunity to marvel at the voice and the writing, and appreciate the production. Milk Pool forever." - triple j, Luka Muller
"The second album from Melbourne-based artist Merpire is a darkly romantic collection of big, messy feelings put to song. There’s crunchy, grunge-era guitars (“Leaving With You”, “Bigger”), sublime synth-pop (“Premonition”), piano-led heartbreak (“Internet”), and even acoustic lo-fi (“You Are Loved”). MILK POOL is a winning combination of style and substance that should see Merpire’s fanbase expand even further. MILK POOL - 4 stars”
- Rolling Stone, James Jennings
