What?
Visionary Australian artist Melody Pool announces the release of her highly anticipated new album Our Eternal Garden, arriving July 31. The first long-play from Pool since her sophomore record in 2016, this album is a bold expansion of her sonic and lyrical world, offering a view into the more hidden corners of her craft.
Produced by Christopher Dale and recorded entirely to tape at Golden Retriever Studio in Marrickville, Our Eternal Garden sounds less like a recording and more like a transmission; something ancient passing through modern hands and unfolding like a lost classic.
“This album is about all echoes of the self, throughout all lifetimes,” says Pool. “It was a way for me to process grief, trust and curiosity by braiding them together and finding something sacred in the mess of love and chaos.”
Built on themes of spiritual inheritance and ego death, the album gathers the full spectrum of Pool’s artistry: the psychedelic-folk trip of Will Not Let You Down, the dark catharsis of Unbreakable Chain, to the disarming intimacy of My Tender Memory. Together, they form a body of work that plays like a soundtrack to someone remembering who they’ve always been.
Adding further texture, the album’s photos were shot by legendary rock photographer Henry Diltz, whose iconic work includes The Doors, Joni Mitchell, and Neil Young. Known for capturing the true character of an artist, Diltz brings a timeless resonance to Our Eternal Garden, bridging what has been with what is becoming.
Pool has also quietly cultivated a visual mythology with filmmaker Brayden Porter and film photographer Jess Bowditch. Featuring a recurring cast affectionately dubbed “the coven,” the video series weaves a symbolic thread through the singles exploring feminine archetypes, shared intuition, and creative play.
Our Eternal Garden doesn’t ask for attention, it commands it. Raw, fearless, and unmistakably Melody Pool.
The album is out on July 31 and will be available on vinyl, CD, and all digital platforms.
