Limited to 125 tickets for the 125 coolest people in town!
Sometimes it seems that all today’s modern rock stars want to do is take, take , take!
But not so with local Rhythm and Blues champs the Breadmakers who are celebrating their 36th birthday by throwing their very own mini festival, Half Baked. They’ve gathered some of their favourite Rock n Roll combos from around the globe for one night only when they and their like-minded buddies will be giving back to their friends and fans.
When the Breadies sent out their clarion call around the globe, only the very best and brightest responded. From Tokyo Japan come The Fadeaways who are celebrating their own 20-year anniversary, but when the Breadies first played with them in Japan in 2013 they were just innocent young punks, literally hanging from the rafters of various Live Houses. Now they are one of the premiere garage punk groups and “one of the greatest live bands on the planet” (Frank Cotterell Waterfron Records)
The Breadmakers think of Thee Cha Cha Chas as their foul mouthed cheeky younger nephew and niece. No matter how naughty they are, The Breadies can’t stay mad at them – so they were delighted when they heard that ‘Thee Chas’ who currently reside in Spain would briefly return to Australia and could play at Half Baked. Thee Chas will have copies of their brilliant debut LP Temple of Mirth to sell on the night.
The Breadmakers will also be playing as well as a mystery band so secret that they mightn’t even realise they are playing (but they are not ECSR!)
Another brave soul to heed the call was Owen Penglis from Sydney’s finest The Straight Arrows who the Breadies are flying down to Melbourne to MC the night and DJ between bands and into the early hours!
Then there’s the food - The bands will be serving you!
In honour of our pals The Fadeaways coming all the way to Australia, we will be serving up complimentary Japanese delicacies all night! The Breadies will kick things off with some sushi trays for everyone to share (veg and non-veg)
Thee Cha Cha Chas will be serving up their favourite, hand-made, vegetarian gyozas supplied by the chef’s team at Chotto Motto, Melbourne’s award-winning Japanese restaurant.
When the Fadeaways arrive, it’s time to break out the karaage (fried chicken). Guaranteed finger lickin’ good – just like The Fadeaways
And what about the mystery band? What food will they serve? Well, it’s a mystery!
What more could you ask for? Well, everybody gets a complimentary vinyl LP or 7” to take home of their choosing
Included in the ticket price; 4 bands, DJ till late, all food described above, and free vinyl
125 tickets only for the 125 coolest people in Melbourne $39 (presale) $49 on the door
