After studying and living in Sydney for the past 5 years James has relocated to Melbourne full-time and will be performing his original music and Jazz Standards! James' spent most of his time in Sydney studying and playing across the city, focusing on studying the tradition of African American jazz music.
Over the years James has had the privilege of performing with and studying under many great Australian jazz legends, including playing with Warick Alder’s Quintet at the Manly Jazz Festival. His musical journey has been enriched by the guidance of esteemed jazz musicians such as Warwick Alder, Andrew Dickeson, Kevin Hunt, Craig Scott, Dale Barlow and John Harkins. Having immersed himself in the tradition of jazz, James hopes to offer an exciting musical experience by performing his original compositions which expand into a more contemporary jazz sound.
