Chan/Fujisaki/Turner
Hayley Chan and Hinano Fujisaki are among Sydney’s most talented and in demand young musicians. David Turner is not.
Hayley is the first (and presumably still the only) person to have graduated from the Sydney Conservatorium drum set program with Honours. Hinano is the inaugural (and certainly still the only) recipient of the Judy Bailey Emerging Composer Scholarship. If prizes were awarded for musical activities conducted below the radar, David might be in line for a nomination.
Nevertheless, Hayley, Hinano and David will come together at Sydney's best, Stadium Rockdale, for their very first performance together.
Who knows what will happen...but one thing is for certain, the evening will be full of mystery, magic and surprises. By all means come along and share the experience.
Hayley Chan – drums
Hinano Fujisaki – tenor saxophone
David Turner - guitar
Maddy Briggs & Ben Lopes
Ben Lopes is a composer, songwriter and artist. He is a graduate of the Sydney Conservatorium of Music. His multifaceted practice, spanning from punk rock to indie pop to the avant-garde, culminates in a unique and richly- textural approach to music that pushes and blurs the boundaries of any genre that he approaches.
Maddy Briggs is a composer and sound designer who works across the fields of theatre, screen composition, chamber music and fixed media works. A graduate of the Sydney Conservatorium of Music, her practice centres upon the digital elaboration and explosion of acoustic instruments, weaved together into highly textural soundscapes.
