HEAT 6 FEATURES...

BlackLight

BlackLight is a Brisbane-based three-piece Indie Rock Band that formed in high-school over 10 years ago. They’ve been gigging around Queensland for the last 6 years and produced and released two EPs and a full-length album. Their music has been described as criminally underrated by some and too loud by most. With another EP on the way, people are wondering when they’ll finally win a single battle of the bands.

Elsewhere

Brisbane’s Elsewhere is a female fronted 5-piece, fusing alternative rock with R&B, soul, funk and dance. The band formed at university, connecting over their shared obsession with groove. Each member’s unique style creates an inimitable blend of sound that makes up Elsewhere. Their sound pulls from influences like Fontaines D.C., Anderson .Paak, Khruangbin, Amy Winehouse and Erykah Badu creating a blend of high-energy intensity, colourful melodies and introspective lyricism.

Indigo Hue

Picture this… a more approachable, cheekier and more gay John Mayer.

Introducing John Gayer! (a.k.a. Indigo Hue).

Indigo blends indie rock, jazz, and melancholy lyrics that tug at your heartstrings, capturing the chaos of sapphic love and heartbreak. Bouncing back after Hue’s first Australian tour Co-Signed with Naarm’s Hassall in July 2024, her newest release ‘Lilium’ explores the messy emotions of rejection and self-discovery, marking a heavy step forward in her music. Her sophomore release, The Room, is a dreamy indie-folk ballad, while her debut, Romantic Overthinker, tells a classic queer tale of unrequited love. With unwavering confidence and humour, get ready to fall in love and maybe even hold hands with Indigo Hue.

The Distained

Fresh out of high school, The Distained are four Tulmur/Ipswich teenagers lashing out with a vicious intent. In a brutal pursuit, with an energy and enthusiasm that is synonymous with youth, they have abolished age as a barrier while inciting neighbourly noise complaints with their border crossover of punk, encroaching into the realms of thrash. They command a spiteful authority over their music that is beyond their years, forging hard on their craft as to not disrespect or dishonour the genre. Come to a show - The Distained are teenage disciples of thrash and destroy – no hate, no gimmicks, no division, just hard out kick arse anti-fake slashing punk to punish your eardrums and blow the roof off!
